Everything Beautiful...

It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend here in Seattle, so we wanted to spend as much time outside as possible! On Saturday we took a trip to the Japanese Garden at the Washington Park Arboretum. It was stunning! Nolin enjoyed running around on the paths, climbing the rocks, crossing the bridges, & crossing the stepping stones. She also enjoyed seeing the fish, ducks, turtles, & frogs. Nolin loves being outside & exploring. :) It was a little nerve wracking for Paul & me though - the girl is fast & the handrails were low (& sometimes even non-existent)! At one point Nolin almost knocked herself & me in the water! We all made it out dry though.

We attempted to take some family pictures in the gorgeous garden, but it was a challenge. We didn't have anyone to take a picture of all of us together. But even if we did, I'm not sure we would have gotten a good shot. It's tough getting a good photo with two little ones!

After we left the garden, we found a little cafe to eat lunch. It happened to be right across from a neat playground, so we walked there after we ate so Nolin could play.

I was super excited when I realized that there was also a beach at this park! Paul enjoyed sitting in the grass with Harris, while Nolin & I took off our shoes, rolled up our pants, & walked along the sandy shore. Paul hates sand, so he wouldn't have anything to do with it! Nolin did pretty well though. It's been a good while since she's been in sand, so I wasn't sure what she would think of it. The water was absolutely freezing though! There were some crazy kids out swimming in it!
