The Countdown is ON...

I'm almost 39 weeks now & still rocking this baby bump!

37 weeks
I'm not sure if I want to say this pregnancy has flown by or what...some days it feels as it has & others I feel like I've been pregnant for years! :)

Here we are about to hit single digits & approaching the 39th week. I'm so thankful to have been able to carry my three babies to term, but I gotta be honest, I'm ready to meet this baby girl!

I can't really complain about anything with this pregnancy, either. This have progressed pretty smoothly. I'm dealing with the frequent trips to the restroom, a little acid reflux, some trouble sleeping, some swelling...but all to be expected. I may be experiencing some crazy emotions as well...just ask Paul about that! & the kids might tell you that I have moments of little patience...but thank goodness they still love me! They both are looking forward to cuddling Mommy without the big belly being in the way! :)

Josephine seems to be hanging out in the right position, so hopefully her labor will go smoothly as well. She is also measuring as she should. I'll be interested in seeing if she is the same size as her 8 pound siblings were. My belly appears to be about the same, so fingers crossed she is no bigger! :)

Josephine has slowed down a little bit with her movement...guess baby girl is just about out of room! But she still gets the hiccups & moves just enough to let me know she is doing well!

Here is the latest of the belly growth...if all goes as it did with Nolin & Harris, there will not be a 40 week belly photo! Here's to hoping we meet baby Josephine soon!

Josephine Lynn - The Namesake(s)

Josephine Lynn Markham
In keeping with tradition, we knew our third child would also carry family names. We have actually been keeping the name Josephine in our pocket for years. We knew that if we were to have another girl, Josephine it would be! :) However, when had so much confusion about Tiny Markham #3's gender, we went out in search of another boy name that we would love.  We found one! We even called the baby by the boy's name for a short time (ooops!).  But we were in for a surprise during out routine ultrasound...turns out we are getting our little Josephine Lynn!

The name Josephine comes from Paul's side of the family.  Josephine Markham is Paul's great, great grandmother.  In fact, Josephine was the mother of Nolin Markham (my Nolin's namesake). From what we know, Josephine was always taking care of others & she passed away from tuberculosis, after taking care of others with the disease. Lynn comes from my side of the family.  Lynn was my maternal grandmother's maiden name Maxie Olene Lynn. I'm so happy to name this little one after my grandma Birge. She was always taking care of people & as the youngest grandchild, she spoiled me rotten! Whenever I came to visit, she made sure to make me a chocolate pie! I was always doomed to be addicted to chocolate! ;)

Below you will see pictures of Paul's great, great grandmother,  Josephine Markham & my grandmother, Maxie Olene (Lynn) Birge.

Looking forward to telling Josephine Lynn all about her namesakes one day!

Oh BABY, It's a...

Each pregnancy we have tested old wives tales to determine whether we were having a boy or a girl. This pregnancy has been slightly different, in that we haven't done things like the ring on a string...poor third child!  But we did take the Intelligender test & even a blood test early on. Intelligender correctly predicted the gender of both Nolin & Harris, so we were pretty excited to take it.  But we were nothing but confused by the results!  It was definitely not as clear as our first two. We finally decided that the test likely said - girl.  Next up, the blood test.  As this is not a high risk pregnancy, we did a private mail in blood test, called Sneak Peak.  The day the results were due, I was so excited to get the email, only to find out that the results was - inconclusive!  So they came back to me twelve hours later, after a more in depth look, with the results of - boy!  Naturally we decided this must be a boy.  We even began calling the baby by "his" boy name.

Well, today was ultrasound day...mind blown.  Turns out, Tiny Markham #3 is a GIRL!

Her name is Josephine Lynn Markham.  A post will come soon about her namesake(s).
